Thank you for considering sponsoring the Boxborough Harvest Fair
The Boxborough Harvest Fair is an annual community event which brings together people from Boxborough and surrounding towns to celebrate Boxborough’s rural heritage. The Fair provides music, entertainment, children’s activities and the opportunity for townspeople to exhibit their garden produce, hobbies, and craft items they have produced over the past year.
To help defray the cost of the Fair, the Committee requests that local businesses and organizations act as Fair Sponsors by purchasing advertisements to be printed in the Fair program booklet. The program booklet will be mailed to every household in Boxborough in mid-August. In addition, Sponsors will be acknowledged on the Fair website and at the Fair itself.
This year, the cost of purchasing an advertisement in the program booklet is:
- 1/4 Page $35.00
- 1/2 Page $65.00
- Full Page $110.00
You can purchase an advertisement as follows:
- Mail a check to the address below.
- Provide us with a copy of your advertisement through one of the following methods:
- Email your advertisement as an attachment to ads@boxboroughfair.org (preferred!);
- or include a CD containing your advertisement with your check;
- or include a printed copy of your advertisement with your check.
Ad copy can be in any common, non-proprietary, format: PDF, PNG, JPG, GIF, DOC or text are acceptable. We cannot handle Adobe Illustrator.
The Fair booklet is printed as a brochure on folded 8.5×11 inch (letter sized) paper. This means that physically a “full page” in the booklet is 5.5×8 inches, minus margins. This works out to essentially the same ratio as a 8.5×14 (legal sized) piece of paper, but reduced to 1/2 size.
The main thing to be careful about in designing an advertisement is that the size reduction means that using lots of text in small fonts could be difficult to read.
In practice, for a full page ad, we can handle anything from 8×10 to 8×14 – the copy will be scaled and centered on the booklet page. Half and quarter page ads are placed vertically on 1/2 (1/4) of the page, as illustrated here.
In order to be printed in the Fair program booklet checks and ad copy must be received by JULY 1, 2019.
